Enjoying life ONE day at a time
We have been enjoying life since Mikes recent surgeries and have been to lots of ballgames, had kids and grandkids visits, shoveled and snow plowed a lot, Mike has been working more, and we’ve added more detox/healing protocols into our lives (more on that later). We had to cancel his CT scan and Oncology visit twice in January due to bad weather and are now scheduled at Mayo on February 10th so we can see if those lung tumors are behaving themselves. Mike has said several times that he feels like his “old self” and his brain is working well without the immunotherapy/chemo drug in his system. He feels so good and looks so good that most people would never know he has a stage 4 cancer diagnosis! Some people would probably be worried being off “drugs” for such an extended period of time but we are trusting God for health and healing and enjoying this time of “normalcy”!
Even though we pray for health and healing we aren’t just throwing our hands up and not doing anything…Mike is putting in some work too💪🏼 Now would be the time to stop reading if you don’t want to hear any “weird” healing protocols😉 Also I’m not suggesting anyone try any of these things but only giving you a little insight into holistic healing therapies we are doing.
Eat… we have tried all the things over the years and were even vegan for over 4 years. We try to mostly eat organic because so much of our food now days has chemicals on or in it! We eat lots of organic produce and grass fed, pastured meat. We drink at least a 1/2 gallon of water a day and add electrolytes as needed. We recently started juicing again and don’t know why we ever stopped. We limit sugar and try not to eat packaged foods/food like products. We try not to stress over food because that’s not good for you either but make the best choices in any situation.
Pray… We pray for health and healing for Mike and others and our world!!!
Breathe… We workout. Working out doesn’t have to be intense, just walking is great for the heart, lungs and mind! We also sit in the infrared sauna anywhere from 3-7 days a week which gets a good sweat going and gets your heart rate up and feels so good on cold Iowa days! I would like to say we meditate because it is so good for you but we are works in progress on that! We also use red light therapy as well as a PEMF mat, and I realize all these things cost money but doctor bills cost a lot of money too! The cost of the GKS alone takes my breath away!!!
Lastly, we start the day with coffee… we do drink coffee because we like it and it is full of antioxidants, but we also put it up the backside…aka… coffee enemas. Strange as it sounds coffee enemas have been used since world war 1. They increase the production of glutathione (the master antioxidant in the body) by as much as 700%, they stimulate the liver to produce more bile to flush out toxins, can alleviate pain and allergies, and helps clear out the colon thru peristalsis. Probably more information than you want, but we want to be real and we actually enjoy this time and use it to relax, pray, and read.
I will update after February’s Mayo visit. We are also looking at other non-toxic/holistic therapies like Hope 4 Cancer in Cancun Mexico, so I will update when we decide on that as well.
A quote from Dr. Tony Jimenez book (Hope 4 Cancer)… when you have HOPE, the frequency of that positive emotion gets “downloaded” into your cells, which is conducive to healing. HOPE is a powerful healer, and yet it also transcends your physical body. Whenever you have HOPE, it impacts your spirit, and once you are healed on a spiritual level, then your soul and body will tend to follow. This is because healing occurs first on the spiritual level, then on the mental and emotional levels, and finally, on the physical level.
With HOPE we continue on one day at a time!
Be Blessed,
Paula
