23 years “celebrating” Lung cancer month awareness…

We have been “celebrating” 23 years of Lung cancer awareness month. We can look at this two ways.. 1) It sucks to have cancer for over 23 years or 2) Be thankful that Mike has had cancer for over 23 years and is still here to celebrate! We have done both conventional treatments (surgery, radiation, and now chemotherapy) and we have done integrative treatments (too many to list but some examples include: high dose IV vitamin C, coffee enemas, infared sauna, Weber helmet, PEMF, Hyperbariac oxygen, biological dentistry, red light therapy, supplements upon supplements, tried different types of diets, off label drugs including ivermectin and FenBen, etc…)

I’m sure many people think we should just follow main stream medicine and not waste our time or money on all the integrative things we do. Not many people, however, live over 20 years with lung cancer, so we will continue to research and turn over every rock and seek integrative things along the way that show promise for cancer. I think people are seeing that you can combine conventional and integrative medicine, and you should always be an advocate for yourself!

Mike had his third round of Chemo and Keytruda on Monday November 4th and felt really good for about 48 hours due to the anti-nausea medicine and a steroid they put in his IV. After the first two days he starts to feel exhausted and nauseous. One of the chemo agents, Pemetrexed causes mucocitis which is lots of thick mucous that is difficult to expectorate. Mike has dry heaves most days and his taste buds are way off so nothing tastes normal. We are not doing the keto diet that CC4H suggested while he is on chemo, because it was just too difficult and he was losing weight fast. He is starting to feel a little better after a week and for that we are thankful because, to be honest, this is a very hard season of life with so many emotions!

Mike is scheduled for a chest and abdominal CT scan at 5pm on the 19th and a Brain MRI at 1pm on the 22nd and his fourth round of Chemo/Keytruda on the 25th. We would appreciate prayers to calm scanxiety and for shrinkage of all tumors… clear scans would be even better❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼❤️ We are trying to enjoy the present time we have with each other and our family! Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!

Our daughter Julia sent the song “I Need You” by Jet Trouble and it has so many truths in it! We are so thankful for our faith and music to get us through hard days!

Be blessed,

Paula
